On the Costa Del Sol in the grounds of the Kempinski

I dedicate my magnum opus to the lovely Angie who brought amazing triplets into the world, retaining her unique and special personality and most of all her kindness – Thank you for your friendship.

Enchantment

A brave blackbird from his lofty branch sings his enchanting song

Warbling magical mystic melodies all evening long

So small and delicate he welcomes all to his beach club throng

We’ve done such wrong to his kind yet he still wants us to belong

The proud white crested sea horses frolick and foam, rear and prance

Beneath sun-soaked Mediterranean skies they dash and dance

Racing unbridled from Neptune’s kingdom to a beach of gold

Suddenly vanishing by a force of nature uncontrolled

Rising like a mighty phoenix sculptured in the depths of Earth

The giant rock, Gibraltar, was delivered by molten birth

Portal to Africa, the Atlas Mountains, rich in worth

Greek Gods chronicled epic fables of this vast continent

Of mystery, magic, heroes with Herculean intent

O’er which a secret Stygian Empire covertly rules by night

The dark, fear divines, from within our minds ‘til comes the sun’s light

The moon casts shadows to shroud its intrigue with this ancient Reign

Gifting its patronage to inflame the Sun’s fiery bane

A vexed Sun bursts free each cycle from its black, oppressive plight

Forced to exert all its celestial mega massive might

Then sky and sea merge beautifully into all shades of blue

A white hot Sun gifts life and commands this awe-inspiring view

Energising a New Dawn, the seed, the just born, the old tree

Part of nature’s symphony, nurturing peace and harmony

The breeze heavy with blossom and the sultry scents of the sea

Wafts aimlessly calming our feelings. All is tranquillity

Such moments of bliss, I will recall when frayed or full of woe

Then senses will with pleasure fill and thrill to Nature’s Grand Show
